Mississippi for Meaningful Medical Marijuana is a coalition of grassroots activists who are dedicated to supporting patients in accessing safe, affordable, quality medical Cannabis. We invite you to join us.
Medical Cannabis in Mississippi
Medical Cannabis is all about patient medical freedom. It's about improving patient quality of life and in some cases, giving them their lives back.
In November 2020, 74% of Mississippi voters supported legalization of medical cannabis with Initiative 65. It’s time to bring the state and its patients a well-functioning, well-organized program that provides access to safe, affordable medicine for patients that are suffering.
We’re grateful to all the legislators who support the passage of Senate Bille 2095 in February of 2021, especially the committee chairs who diligently researched industry norms.
As municipalities now implement local ordinances in alignment with the state law that went into effect on July 1, 2022, we ask that policy makers remember the following key points:
- Qualified patients deserve to have medical freedom to use medical Cannabis as recommended by their physician.
- There are a total of 22 debilitating conditions eligible for treatment.
- 37 states and four U.S. territories have enacted comprehensive, publicly available medical Cannabis programs.
- All of Mississippi’s neighbors -- Louisiana, Alabama, and Arkansas -- have programs underway or forthcoming.
- Legal Cannabis supports 321,000 full-time American jobs (as of Feb. 2021 Leafly report).
- Unnecessary restrictions on the legal medical Cannabis industry hurt the economy and make it harder for patients to access affordable, quality medicine.
